While driving around Austin in our VW Bus, we wondered, "Would the folks at Pease Park let us bring our coffee rig to the park on weekends?" The idea was simply to meet some people and raise money for our favorite green space. The answer, well, was obviously yes. Pease Park and its guests have become something more than friends. That was three years ago. Now, the coffee vibes are always present in the Brother Friend store, and the fun weekend park amenity is open on Thursdays, Fridays, and weekends.
After three years of rolling into the park with our van, folks asked if we could stay longer. Our coffee experience had become a park favorite, and our friends asked for more days and longer hours. We're now serving Thursday through Sunday mornings.
It's not the size of your equipment that matters; it's how you use it. We practice daily and love to pull an espresso shot and steam your cream of choice, if that's how you like it, to make the perfect small-shop coffee experience.
We're just a father and son who did what everyone was thinking—put a coffee cart in the park.
Maybe you've seen them. The bottles? Nah, the Grackle. The boisterous bird that rules Austin patios. We kind of like them. So when we named the cold brew coffee recipe one of our founders developed, we thought of the bird's energy and song. Grackle Oil is delicious over ice or straight from the bottle.
Grackle Oil is served in our shop every day and onsite at Pease Park at our new coffee trailer. You can also get it in bottles to go at the following fine grocers, convenience stores, and, uh, filling stations:
Tiny Grocer South Congress
Tiny Grocer Hyde Park
PeoplesRX (all locations)
Wheatsville (both locations)
Oracle World Headquarters
and other locations.
We're in the Brother Friend shop and at Pease Park.
